Upper Blepharoplasty
An upper blepharoplasty, often referred to as an eyelid lift, is a surgical procedure designed to improve the appearance and function of the upper eyelids. As we age, the skin of the upper eyelids can lose elasticity, leading to drooping or "hooding" that can make you look tired or even interfere with your vision. Dr. Hedayati specializes in this delicate procedure, combining surgical precision with an artistic eye to restore a refreshed, youthful, and rested appearance.
The procedure: what to expect
Dr. Hedayati performs upper blepharoplasty as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. This ensures you are comfortable and awake without the risks or grogginess associated with general anesthesia.
Marking and Numbing
Dr. Hedayati precisely marks the excess skin to be removed, ensuring the final scar will be hidden within the natural fold of the eyelid. The area is then thoroughly numbed.
Tissue Removal
A thin crescent of excess skin (and muscle/fat if necessary) is removed.
Closure
The incision is closed with very fine, delicate sutures. Because the incision is placed directly in the natural eyelid crease, the resulting scar is virtually invisible once healed.
Immediate Recovery
The procedure typically takes about 45 to 60 minutes. You will be able to go home shortly after the surgery.
The benefits of an eyelid lift
Refreshed Appearance
Removes the "tired" look and restores a more alert, youthful expression.
Easier Makeup Application
Creates a smoother, more visible "canvas" on the eyelid.
Improved Vision
For patients with significant sagging, lifting the eyelid skin can expand the peripheral and upper field of vision.
Long-Lasting Results
While the aging process continues, the results of a blepharoplasty typically last for many years.

Get in touch with usDr. Hedayati’s philosophy is focused on natural rejuvenation. The goal is not to change the shape of your eyes, but to remove the heavy "hooding" that obscures them. You will look like a more rested version of yourself.
Initial swelling and bruising are common and typically peak at day 2 or 3, subsiding significantly within a week. Stitches are usually removed 5 to 7 days after the procedure. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work and social activities within 7 to 10 days.
Because the area is completely numbed with local anesthesia, you will not feel pain during the surgery. Afterward, most patients report a "tight" or "heavy" sensation rather than sharp pain, which is easily managed with over-the-counter discomfort relief and cold compresses.
The eyelids are one of the most delicate areas of the face. As a fellowship-trained Mohs and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Hedayati has an intimate understanding of facial anatomy and tissue movement. His surgical background ensures that your results are not only beautiful but also functionally sound, protecting the health and lubrication of your eyes.
